COVID-19 Extra Safety Precautions

At the office of Dr. Carol Jin, DDS, we have introduced extra safety precautions and some great new dental equipment to keep both our team and you, as healthy as possible during the current COVID-19 outbreak. We are going above and beyond the latest recommended OSHA guidelines to protect you while you receive the dental care you need. We invite you to learn more about the measures we’ve taken to prevent coronavirus transmission so you can feel confident and comfortable during your next visit.

Preventing Transmission In The Office

We are screening every patient and employee when they come in. Safeguards include taking temperatures and asking each patient to fill out a prescreening form.

Decreasing Your Chance Of Infection

We are also asking patients to do a pre-rinse with hydrogen peroxide before any dental cleaning or dental treatment begins. Studies show that hydrogen peroxide decreases the bacterial load in your mouth.

Continuous Sterilization

We have always practiced standard precautions, such as cleaning our treatment rooms and sterilizing our instruments. Now, we are also extending our efforts by wiping down all hard surfaces in the front reception area and common areas.

Social Distancing For Safety

We are making sure that both patients and employees maintain social distancing as much as possible. If you arrive early for your appointment, we may ask that you wait in your car.

Coronavirus Dental Safety

New Office Equipment

Our office has gone above and beyond the required dental safety standards by incorporating new equipment throughout. We are pleased to be able to offer you these added layers of protection from coronavirus and other contagious illnesses.

1. We have dedicated HEPA air purifiers in each of our treatment rooms and also in the reception area. This decreases the number of viruses, bacteria, dust, pollen, and other pollutants in the air by 99.97% and changes the air every 5-10 minutes.

2. We have acquired HealthyAir Extra Oral Vacuums for each provider. These devices collect and deactivate ultra-fine airborne particles, aerosols, and vapors during procedures, significantly decreasing any contaminants in both the immediate treatment area and the surrounding environment.

3. We are using the Dry Shield intraoral, hi-volume suction device, which helps removes 90-95% of aerosols created during treatment.

4. We have also incorporated a Mouthwatch intraoral camera to comfortably take high-quality pictures of the inside of your mouth.
